Application Process
Step 3: Physical Ability Test (PAT)
- All candidates will be given a thorough physical examination and a physical evaluation battery
- Vision must be at least 20/20 in each eye, or correctable to 20/20 in both eyes.
- Successfully pass a requisite hearing test.
Step 6: Background Investigation
The investigation checks areas of your life including but not limited to personal, professional, military, and criminal history.
Step 7: Tentative Job Offer
HR will review and verify information from the selectee such as a DD-214, college transcripts, OF-306, and a Declaration for Federal Employment.
Step 10: Drug Screening
Candidates for employment undergo a urinalysis test to screen out for illegal drugs during the initial employment process before being placed on the employment rolls.
Step 11: Firm Job Offer
Step 2: Reply to testing invite and provide requested information
The invite will be an email that will layout specific instructions on testing, documentation needed, location, dates, and times which is sent to the email you provided to USAjobs.gov.
Step 4: Written Examination (Police Officer Selection Test (POST))
The POST will test your knowledge of basic math, reading, writing and grammar.
Step 5: Oral Board Interview
Is a three panel members interview board consisting of uniformed police officers and or government civilian employees.
Step 8: Medical Examination
Applicants are subject to medical screening to determine if any conditions exists that may impact their ability to perform law enforcement duties.
Step 9: Security Clearance (Secret)
