Ofc. Eric Maldonado
Ofc. Eric Maldonado has been with Pentagon Force Protection Agency for 10 years. Prior to joining the Agency, he worked for a private security company following a four-year tour with the U.S. Army. While in the Army, Ofc. Maldonado attained the rank of staff sergeant, and deployed to Iraq for a one-year tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Ofc. Maldonado feels that Protecting Those Who Protect Our Nation isn’t just a job, but a wonderful opportunity to serve others in one of the most iconic buildings in the world.

“I really enjoy being a Pentagon Police Officer -- it’s a special honor for me to continue to serve and wear this uniform.”

Ofc. LaQuanda Burgess
Ofc. LaQuanda Burgess is originally from our Nation’s capital, and has been with PFPA’s Pentagon Police Division since January 2011. Prior to serving with our Agency, she was a part of the U.S. Department of State’s Uniform Division from January 2007-December 2010.

In May 2003, Ofc. Burgess earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Saint Augustine’s University.

“The best part of being a police officer is helping others and also giving back to my community.”

She also enjoys mentoring others who grew up in a similar environment as she did, and making positive changes in other people’s lives. “You don’t have to be a product of your environment.”

Ofc. Devoras Murphy
Ofc. Devoras Murphy has been with Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Pentagon Police Division since June, 2010.

Prior to that, Ofc. Murphy worked for Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland in the Domestic Violence and Fugitive Warrant Division from 2005-2010.

Ofc. Murphy also served as a member of the D.C Air National Guard 113th Flight from 1996-2002.

Sergeant Stephen M. Whyte
Sergeant Stephen M. Whyte is a distinguished law enforcement professional with over four decades of dedicated military and federal service. A native of Washington, D.C., Sergeant Whyte began his career in public safety in 1985 by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, where he served honorably as a Military Police Officer until 1989.

In December 1990, Sergeant Whyte joined the Defense Protective Service (DPS) Pentagon Police—now the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA). Demonstrating exceptional leadership, technical competence, and dedication to the agency's protective mission, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2000.

Throughout his 35-year tenure with PFPA, Sergeant Whyte has remained deeply committed to securing the Pentagon reservation and safeguarding its personnel. He takes immense pride in delivering high-quality community-oriented policing, ensuring that every shift contributes directly to the safety and readiness of the Department of War community.

Officer Evan Hatley
Officer Hatley is a dedicated law enforcement professional currently serving with the PFPA’s Pentagon Police Division since November 2021.

Officer Hatley brings a unique blend of strategic organizational skills and crisis preparedness to the force, having graduated from Western Carolina University with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Emergency Disaster Management. This strong educational foundation equips them with a deep understanding of resource management, leadership, and operational efficiency, while their specialized training in disaster management provides critical expertise in navigating complex, high-stress emergencies.

Ofc. Hatley believes a positive attitude can change any situation you come across.
