TRAINING

After accepting a job offer with the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA), you will be required to complete comprehensive training tailored to your specific position.
 

Police Officer (0083) Training

  • In-processing. 
    This initial phase takes place at the Pentagon, where candidates complete basic administrative paperwork and receive their uniforms and orientation briefings.

  • Pre-FLETC. 
    A two-week law enforcement training course in Cheltenham, Maryland. The curriculum includes physical training, weapons familiarization, and classroom instruction.

  • Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP).
     This 13-week program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia, covers academics, legal issues, physical fitness, firearms training, vehicle operations, and officer response tactics.

  • Agency-Specific Basic Police Training (ASBT).
     For 33 days at FLETC in Cheltenham, Maryland, candidates receive PFPA-specific training that focuses on policy and regulations, in addition to advanced firearms and access control.

  • Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP).
     Conducted over six weeks at the Pentagon after officers are sworn-in. Officers are assigned to a Field Training Officer who provides the final training, evaluation, and integration into the Pentagon Police Division.



Special Agent (1811) Training

  • In-processing.
     Special Agents will be contacted directly by their appropriate divisions to arrange in-processing.

  • Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP).
     This 60-day program at FLETC in Glynco, Georgia, includes a curriculum of academics, legal issues, physical fitness, firearms training, vehicle operations, and investigator response tactics.

  • Post-Criminal Investigator Training Program (Post-CITP).
     A four-week program where special agents receive PFPA-specific training focused on policy and regulations, advanced firearms, and access control. Agents will also have the opportunity to visit all areas of assignment for criminal investigators.



Explosive Investigator (1801) Training

  • In-processing.
     Explosives Investigators will be contacted directly by their appropriate divisions for in-processing.

  • Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP).
     This 13-week program at FLETC in Glynco, Georgia, covers academics, legal issues, physical fitness, firearms training, vehicle operations, and officer response tactics.

  • Agency-Specific Basic Police Training (ASBT).
     For 33 days at FLETC in Cheltenham, Maryland, candidates receive PFPA-specific training that focuses on policy and regulations, in addition to advanced firearms and access control.
