Steven Taylor
Chief Of Police

As Chief of Police for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Steve Taylor brings more than 25 years of state and federal law enforcement experience to his role. He is responsible for the executive leadership and strategic oversight of law enforcement and force protection operations at some of our nation's most vital security installations.

Chief Taylor began his career with the Pentagon Police in 2002, serving as a police officer in the newly formed Pentagon Force Protection Agency, where he supported day-to-day law enforcement and security missions. Progressing through a series of increasingly senior leadership positions—including Special Events Commander, Operations Platoon Commander, and National Capital Region Commander—he oversaw complex law enforcement operations, large-scale events, and extensive interagency coordination.

He later served as Deputy Chief of Operations and Special Operations, where he was responsible for operational readiness, tactical response capabilities, and the integration of specialized units supporting PFPA’s mission.

In addition to his field command experience, Chief Taylor spent three years detailed to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security as a Senior Law Enforcement Advisor. In this capacity, he provided strategic guidance on law enforcement policy, force protection, and intelligence-security integration across the Department of War.

As Chief of Police, Taylor leverages two decades of operational, command, and strategic leadership to protect lives, safeguard national defense operations, and uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and service.
