PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST (PAT)

The Physical Ability Test (PAT) measures the applicant’s level of fitness and physical preparedness for the position. It is a high-intensity fitness evaluation designed to test your aerobic and anaerobic fitness. You will be evaluated based on a standardized set of criteria. Minimum requirement standards are as follows:

  • Push-Ups: 19 in two minutes or Dummy Drag: 25 feet in 15 seconds
  • 1.5 Mile Run: maximum time of 17 minutes and 30 seconds
 
Procedures and Sequencing
  1. Conduct a warm-up on your own, no more than 3 minutes (optional).
  2. Perform the push-ups.                 
  3. Rest for 10 minutes.                 
  4. Conduct a warm-up on your own, no more than 3 minutes (optional).
  5. Perform the run.
  6. Conduct cardio cool down, walk one lap.
